Who we are
Welcome—We’re so glad you’re here!
Meet Dr. Amaris Dennison, founder and psychologist at Healthy Soul Body Mind—a private practice dedicated to supporting individuals through life’s many transitions with presence, compassion, and care. This space was created to help you show up for yourself—genuinely, wholeheartedly, and without judgment.
Training
Dr. Dennison is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Licensed Mental Health Counselor, holding:
A Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD)
Dual Master’s Degrees in Mental Health Counseling and General Psychology
Across her career, she has had the privilege of working with people across the lifespan—from young children to older adults—each bringing their own unique story, strengths, and struggles.
Dr. Dennison supported children in foster care, adults navigating life transitions, and elderly clients experiencing cognitive decline. Her clinical work has included community mental health, crisis intervention, and specialized support for civilians and veterans managing trauma, substance use, and chronic medical conditions—including spinal cord injuries. She has provided care for individuals healing from sexual abuse, as well as those managing stress, anxiety, and mood disorders. Over the past decade, Dr. Dennison worked across a wide range of settings and with diverse populations—including those with complex trauma, anxiety, and burnout.
Dr. Dennison often shares how these experiences have taught her to listen deeply, adapt thoughtfully, and meet each person where they are—with presence, flexibility, and respect. They continue to shape the care she offers: attentive, personalized, and grounded in a deep belief in the human capacity to heal. She continues to be deeply honored by the trust clients place in me.
Approaches to Treatment
Dr. Dennison’s therapeutic style is warm, attuned, and person-centered. She believes healing happens when we feel safe to explore, reflect, and grow—at our own pace, and in our own way.
She tailors each session to your unique individual needs and draws from evidence-based and mindfulness-based approaches. She will often integrate:
Gentle awareness-building through mindfulness
Cognitive-behavioral strategies
Evidence-based therapies and other mindfulness-based practices
A grounded well-timed sense humor (when it’s helpful and welcome)
A deep respect for your lived experience
Please know that you don’t need to be in crisis to begin treatment. Whether you’re here to process something specific or simply want to reconnect with yourself—this space is for you.
Dr. Dennison believes that therapy should be a place where you can show up as you are — no pressure, no judgment — and feel heard, respected, and supported. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply looking to reconnect with yourself, she is here to walk alongside this journey with you with her full presence and intention.
